Privacy notice

Last updated: October 2026

Iris is a free, open-source program. This page explains what happens to your data when you press Download on the Iris website. The Iris program itself runs only on your own computer; this notice is about the website.

Who is responsible

The developer of Iris (“we”). To see, correct or delete your data, write to the developer through the Iris Inner Circle Telegram group.

What we collect, and why

When you press Download (on a phone, where Iris cannot be downloaded, you are asked too) we ask for your email address. We save:

We use it to tell you about Iris updates and important security news, and to count how many people download Iris. We do not sell your email or give it to anyone for advertising.

We do not save your name, your IP address, or anything about your computer. To stop double counting and spam, a scrambled code made from your IP address is kept for at most ten minutes and cannot be turned back into the address.

Legal basis

Your consent (the box you tick). You can withdraw it at any time, see below.

Where it is stored, and who else is involved

Some of these services may process data outside your country. They are large providers that use the standard legal safeguards for such transfers.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it or you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, or take back your consent, and you can object to its use. Just write to the contact above from the address you gave us. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your national data protection authority; in Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

If you buy Iris Pro

Iris Pro is paid by card through Stripe, which collects what it needs to take the payment, such as your name, email, country and card details, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. We receive from Stripe your name and email address, the plan you bought and the status of your subscription. We use these only to give you Iris Pro, to create and email your license key (the email is sent with Resend), and for support. Both providers may process data outside your country under the standard legal safeguards.

When you use a license key, Iris sends it to the Iris Pro server (a small program on Cloudflare) to check that the subscription is active. If you use the Pro AI chat, your chat question and the portfolio numbers needed to answer it are sent through that server to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI, under Anthropic’s terms. The Iris Pro server does not store your messages or answers. It keeps only your license key in scrambled form and a running count of how much of your monthly allowance is used. It never receives your exchange keys, wallet addresses or balances, except those numbers when they are part of a question you ask the chat. If you use your own Claude key instead, the chat goes straight to Anthropic and not through our server.
